2025 Annual Review

Here are some highlights of club activities during 2025:

  • Harbin Park DGC: Years of discussions resulted in redesign and expansion of the course with 36 new concrete tees, new Mach 7 baskets, and 3 basket sleeves per hole. Club members participated in several honey suckle clearing volunteer efforts.

  • Miami Whitewater DGC: Performed reviews of contracted course redesign, made recommendations, and walked through the Miami Whitewater DGC with Great Parks, which resulted in complete course redesign and expansion from 9 holes to 18 holes, 2 baskets per hole, and new signage.

  • Fairfield Church of Nazarene DGC - Provided course design assistance and several club members assisted with fairway clearing efforts.

  • Gave disc golf instructional class for UC's senior recreational outreach group, OLLI, at Woodland Mound DGC.

  • Johnson Hills DGC: Club member (John Schengber) built and installed a walnut plank bench by hole #1.

  • Williamsburg DGC: Coordinated with local course volunteer group to obtain a $5000 grant from Clermont County Visitors Bureau for improvements. Also donated tee framing lumber for future tee pad construction.

  • Dunham DGC: Purchased $640 of lumber for Cincinnati Recreation Commission to use for tee pad framing which led to 18 new concrete tee pads, replacing the old turf pads.

  • Winton Woods DGC: Great Parks opened the newly expanded and redesigned by the GCDGA 18 hole course - after allowing grass to grow over winter and early spring.

  • LWS Idlewild Open: Club member volunteers set up, staffed, and tore down the GCDGA's food booth - raising approximately $3000 while also serving event volunteers.

  • Osage Grove DGC: Club course ambassador coordinated with Clermont County Parks on the course's maintenance needs, assisting new bridges and steps.

  • Coordinated transfer of old bridge decking from South Fork DGC to Lincoln Ridge DGC for projects.

  • Lincoln Ridge DGC: Donated over $2000 of concrete and new ground anchor sleeves and many club member volunteers hours to install them so each hole has 2 placements. GCDGA members have cleared acres of honey suckle on course and assisted with projects throughout year.

  • Provide free member-only tournament at Idlewild in December

  • Members only tournament using temp course on Devou Golf Course

  • GCDGA at Mt. Airy Park Trailfest

  • GCDGA run disc golf event at NKY Senior Games

  • Devou Park DGC:  Maintenance of tee pads and trails.  Meetings with Park Board for needed steps and retaining walls

  • Mt. Airy DGC: Continued maintenance of holes A and B

None of this is possible without YOU -- your volunteer time, and your membership in the GCDGA. And for that we thank you.

There are members that consistently contribute and support club activities every year, but not nearly enough.

Club officers and a few dedicated members can spend 100’s of hours each year per person on club meetings, running tournaments, fundraising activities, course work, park department outreach, course design, and administrative work.

We NEED more members to be involved to sustainably maintain this level of activity. Please consider volunteering!

Here is a brief list of things that the club needs in 2026:

  1. Course Ambassadors

  2. Social Media Director

  3. Sponsorship Manager

  4. TD's to help run GCDGA tournaments

  5. Youth League leader

  6. SKilled local players to help run beginner clinics

Please consider taking on a role in the GCDGA.  Exciting things will happen when more members get involved.

Club meetings are at 7PM on the first Monday of the month at O’Bryons Pub in O’Bryonville.

Let us know how you can get involved!
